MMOVE Project TWG1 - Brighton, 24/25 February 2009 Using both quantitative and qualitative data and analysis, the BP collection will be realized in order to: Benchmark Benchmark the process; Learn Learn from the previous experiences; Develop practical data indicators to improve the learning process for the involved organizations; Promote Promote the discussion; Assess the quality of findings; comparable results Provide more comparable results; practical outcomes Provide practical outcomes of the project; input MMOVE Policy tool box Provide input to develop a guide/tool for similar contest (MMOVE Policy tool box); 1) OBJECTIVES

MMOVE Project TWG1 - Brighton, 24/25 February 2009 According to this approach, the BP collection will be realized submitting a standardized and shared format/ template, able to collect and gather homogeneous and comparable data, at different levels of detail. For those reasons the Best Practices collection template, structured in three different sections (A, B, C), represents the first tool to present the best practices within the following themes: Communication and awareness raising; Parking and traffic management and control; Public & collective transport; 1) OBJECTIVES

MMOVE Project TWG1 - Brighton, 24/25 February 2009 SECTION C – Best Practice Description 1/4 N. 1 BEST PRACTICE DETAILED DESCRIPTION – N. 1 Thematic: Best Practice Themes Ratio and Approach in the Undertaken Action Please explain the reasons which leaded the choice of the specific activities and the undertaken action. Detail the needs and critical points to be faced, the interventions formerly evaluated and if the action comes from a Bottom-up or Top Down approach (citizens participation, direct/indirect involvement, Local Agenda 21, focus group, round tables). Objectives and Target Please describe the focus of the project and primary objectives of intervention, including the target range (i.e. high school student, outliers..) and the expected target value. Financial Resources Please, describe the financial resources, and, if they not coming from the Municipality balance, but from private subjects (patronage, sponsorship..), specify how those resources have been activated. 2) STRUCTURE This section is aimed to provide a detailed description of the Best Practice. Given two best practices for each partner, this session has to be filled out two times according to the Best practices selected themes (BP N. 1 and BP N. 2). To explain the reasons of the undertaken action… the primary objectives, the target range, the expected target value…. the interventions formerly evaluated…, the approach.. Financial Resources …. specify how those resources have been activated….

METHOD How to do ACTIVITIES and PROCESS Please describe the implemented tasks, including the chronological order. SKILLS and BODIES INVOLVED Please, describe the skills involved in the interventions (i.e. consultants in mobility, ICT experts) and provide a list of the implicated bodies (i.e. Local public transport providers, enterprises, consortium and/or organization, public/ private bodies, employers..) INCENTIVES Please illustrate any incentives, received or/and made available (i.e. special fare for students/outliers, patronage/sponsorship..) 2) STRUCTURE To provide homogenous and comparable descriptions, describe… the technical aspects of the implemented intervention.. bodies and skills involved.. how the activities have been implemented and outputs carried out… the activities in chronological order… Any incentives?, (i.e. special fare for students/outliers..)…..

Transferability Please specify the transferability level (high, medium or low) of the intervention and why. Output This section should give a detailed overview of the outputs realised. Please, describe the outputs in quantitative way compared with the starting context, specifying the direct impact on the Mobility indicators mentioned in SECTION B. Coherence Please describe the coherence of the intervention, according to the urban mobility policies listed in the SESSION A, point 2) “Sustainable urban mobility policies”.
