Christmas Traditions They gather around Christmas Tree and sing songs related to Christmas. Some people read the passage concerning the Birth of Jesus From the Holy Bible. Instead of buying a tree, Swiss People go hike through the forest in quest to find and cut a perfect Christmas Tree. Children in Catholic Areas believe “Kristkindl” a Saint will bring them presents. Other Kids believe that St. Nicholas is the gift bringer. He is believed to appear on Dec. 6 ( St. Nicholas Day) and fill the shoes or boots of kids (kept out at night) with fruits, nuts and sweets.
