Spiritual Beliefs and attitudes on aging
1. Are you a spiritual person? If so, what is your spiritual belief? Do you identify with a particular religion? 2. Does your spiritual beliefs influence bereavement? 3. Terminal illness, health care and spirituality is often tied into our modern "human ceremony". After a diagnosis of terminal illness for a friend or family, would your spiritual beliefs help guide your decisions for health care advice? Now imagine you were diagnosed with a terminal illness. Would your spiritual beliefs allow for more, less or have no affect in receiving and accepting health care? Why? 4. Do you believe that you may become more spiritual as you get older, particularly as you become an older adult? Why or why not? 5. Compared to the United States , do you believe your country is more, less or roughly the same, in terms of spirituality? In the United States , research shows that Americans become more spiritual in their older adult years (65 years or older). Is this true in your country, as well?
