District 5240 Membership 2012-13 An effective club is able to… Sustain and increase its membership base. Implement successful projects that address the needs of its community and communities in other countries. Support The Rotary Foundation through both program participation and financial contributions. Develop leaders from within the Club, and leaders capable of serving Rotary beyond the club level.

It is a one-on-one personal interaction between the member and the club president on behalf of the club The commitment is subject to the Four Way Test Earning an Ignite Pin 11

Find your new member’s passions and get them involved in those areas Understand what is going on in the life of your member’s and how it affects their Rotary life. Focus on participation – not attendance Hold regular meetings with new members to continue their Rotary education and answer their questions. Create opportunities for members to interact outside of club meetings –Hand on projects –Socials Encourage members to take advantage of events and training outside normal club meetings Summary: Retaining Members includes… 12

Slide District XXXX Membership Seminar District 5240 Membership 2012-13 Introduce your Club’s Membership Committee. Explain to the Club about the Membership Trends (or Decline). Brief explanation of the Ignite Program. Affirm and explain your President & Board Approved Plan to Sustain or Increase Membership. Establish your Club Retention Goal & Assign a Retention Team to meet them. Every Member has a Role (see Slide 10). Brief explanation of the Premiere Club Program. Presentation of Ignite Pins to those who make a Personal Commitment to bring in one new member during the year. Assure the Club that their progress is important to the District and that their progress will be reported regularly. Monitor and complete the Premier Club worksheet Report often to your club about progress against goal What should be discussed at your Membership Club Assembly! 13
