7 ENGLISH Class focused on developing writing fluency and increasing writing skills journaling frequent essays daily responses in class Advanced grammar study (clauses, phrases, sentence structure) Class works on improving reading comprehension and analysis reading novels, short stories, poems, essays, non-fiction writing working on response to literature, especially group discussions working with increasingly sophisticated literary devices and topics (allegory, irony, allusion, figurative language, theme, etc.) COURSE INFORMATION

Expressions Scientific notation and rational numbers Linear equations and inequalities writing, graphing and solving Systems of equations and inequalities Exponential functions solving quadratics by factoring, graphing quadratic formula, and completing the square Absolute value equation Radicals Rational equation and functions Extreme Algebra!

26 CONFERENCES ● Parent-Teacher conference sign-ups will be conducted through Sign-Up Genius. Request information will be sent through email midway through 1 st quarter for students ● Both day and evening sessions available ● Meet with several teachers at the same time ● As-needed conferences available throughout the year ● Scheduled during Tuesday and Thursday PLC meeting periods (3:15-3:45.) ● Contact any teacher to request a PLC conference
