1 What are NATURAL RESOURCES? They are any useful items which come straight from the earth without human processing.
2
2 What are some examples of natural resources? Water Air Trees Petroleum/oil Coal Soil Gold Diamonds Livestock (goats, sheep, etc.) Got any other ideas?
3
3 How may humans USE these natural resources? (Brainstorm ideas together): Water: Air: Trees: Petroleum/oil: Coal: Soil: Gold: Diamonds: Livestock:
4
4 There are 2 types of natural resources: RENEWABLE NONRENEWABLE
5
5 RENEWABLE resources can be used again and again because they regenerate. Example: WATER (usually; when might this not be true?).
6
6 NONRENEWABLE resources cannot be regenerated; when they’re gone, they’re gone! Example: OIL
7

13
13 People can become DESPERATE when they run out of natural resources. What do DESPERATE people do?
