2 Student Managing All begins with expectations!!!! Establish your routines. List the rules so they can see. Teach them how to select books. Practice, Practice, Practice

3 Classroom Library Rules Two books at most may be checked out at a time. Books are due back within a week. Books from Browsing Boxes may only go home overnight. Return check-out books first thing in the morning. Do not disturb someone who is reading. Please whisper in the classroom library. If you need help, first ask a friend or consult the library map. If you still need help, ask the student librarian. After trying these steps, ask the teacher or other adult helper.

5 Label Books Code them  Get parent help!!!!  Sort them yourself, then get kids to put the code on the book for you. So they know what bin it goes back to…  Colors– colored dots  Pictures- address labels with pictures  Letters- letter stamps/stickers  Shapes- stickers or address labels
