1. KARATAY HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOL -2003 The most important thing in the world is a child, your child, your neighbour’s child, your relatives’ child or any child. A child is the hope of our future. This summer, some around 70 children and students received an enriching outdoor experience at Karatay High Schhol, Summer School,2003. The main aim of the summer camp is to experience the friendship, share the ideas and the cultures from different regions of the country and also to practise the English language which they learn in the classrooms. Some of the activities which include swimming in the blue Mediterranean Sea or in the swimming pool, canoeing, sailing, yacthing, table-tennis, drama, fancy dress party, disco, aerobics, trips to historical areas such as Olympos and trekking to Çıralı, Chimera let the students experience an unforgettable holiday.

2. After four years of education, the students have a graduation party.They celebrate their farwell party With their mothers and teachers in their schools with great enthusiasm.

3. The guidance service We have a guidance teacher in our school.İn the weekly programme of the school we have an hour of guidance lesson. The pupils donot study any subjects on this lesson.The teachers who are chosen before for each classes do guidance study. The guidance service coordinates these studies. The service is there to: A make that all pupils know their own abilities and interests to use in their life. B help the pupils know the surroundings opportunities to grow up happily as knowledgeable and skillful individuals with self-confidence and make them acquire the skills to meet the developing requirements of the 21th century. C Help them make their decisions that are the most reosonable for them. When you go to this service you can get the help of A personal guidance: to help the pupils talk about their problems that they have had and try to give advice to solve these problems. B Educational guidance: to try to change and develop the behaviours of the pupils to be more successful. C Professinal guidance : to inform the pupils about the jobs and university programmes and help them choose the best one.

5. Many of our students are talented young people who compete and succeed in the subject contests such as art and sport
