We connect to Clemson’s network using an Ethernet LAN www.cs.clemson.edu 117A Server Room www.usatoday.com Machines communicate over a network Machines on the network are called hosts Two types of hosts: clients (us) or servers (www.cs.clemson.edu)www.cs.clemson.edu The Internet is a bunch of individual networks that can talk to each other. A host connected to the Internet can communicate with any other host also connected on the Internet.
