What is Keyboarding? 45 days long We will cover the following within this class: Correct Posture Correct Keystrokes Typing Club 1-100 Typing Games

Entering Class Come in quietly Sit in seat Log-on to computer Read journal prompt Complete journal Once journal is completed, turn your seat to the class

Exiting Class Log off computer PUSH seat in Put mouse on top of computer Stay in seat till bell rings DO NOT LINE UP AT DOOR!

Seating Arrangement First week will be a test run to see if you can handle sitting by your friends. A seating chart will be created during week two using the seats you pick or the seats that I pick depending on how you act. Your class will decide if this stays this way for 45 days or only lasts one day.

Class Rules No talking when teacher is talking Use Rest Room before class Raise hand to speak Keep discussions to a whisper FOUR ON THE FLOOR!

Chair Signals Chair to teacher Turn your chair towards the teacher’s desk Chair to class Turn your chair towards your classmates Chair to computer Turn your chair towards your computer Chair to screen Move chair towards screen

Computer Usage Respect the computers. You should NOT unplug cords, pound on the keys, etc. Do not do anything to my electronic devices that you would not do to your own. Respect other computer users: You should NOT touch another person’s computer, push their power button, etc.

Internet Usage DO NOT use the internet I will tell you when you are allowed to use the internet Use smart judgment in web site choices.

Grading Daily Journal Entries – some journal entries will be graded for points. Typing Club Lessons – 5 points each Five Stars = 5 points One Star = 1 point

Absent? Come see Mr. Kemp and he will get you up to date with what you have missed. Must come see Mr. Kemp…..I will not come looking for you. Can I make up the journal entry? Yes as long as you get the prompt from a friend.

Fun Fridays If all students stay on task throughout the week we will take a break on Fridays and play typing related games online/offline. Students may participate in activities if they have completed all their class work for the week. Can use Fridays to catch up on lessons, finish journal entries, do extra credit.
