AmeriFuels 8.1 Liter Irrigation Power Unit Presentation
2
Objectives Who – AmeriFuels – Kearney, NE What – Industrial engines 100% Ethanol When – Operating engines over past three years Where – Nebraska & Kansas – Delta Why – Create a Closed Loop Energy System How – AmeriFuels 8.1 liter ethanol engine
3
Ethanol Production Nebraska
4
Nebraska is the second largest Ethanol producing state in the U.S. Over 2.0 Billion gallons Utilizing over 700 million Bu. of Grain

7
Create a Closed Loop Energy System Allows grower to produce corn, sell corn to a local Ethanol Plant and buy back 100% Ethanol to use as fuel to grow more corn.
8
Grower Consumption Power One well converted to Ethanol –5 gal./hr X 1000 seasonal hours = 5000 gallons Equivalent to 83 cars driving 15,000 miles per year on E10. –15,000 miles / 25 mpg = 600 gallons of E10 per year –E10 = 10% Ethanol –600 gallons X 10% = 60 gallons of Ethanol –5,000 grower gal. / 60 driver gal. = 83.3 Drivers

Long-term Regional Opportunity Rural Commercial Sweet Sorghum Ethanol Potential: >100 Biorefineries Each Facility: -Produces 10MM gpy ethanol -Uses juice sugars and bagasse -Requires ~10,000 acres -Uses 12% of acres in a 6-mile radius -Displaces 10% of corn+soybeans+cotton -Creates min. 25 direct & 25 indirect jobs Source: Regional Strategy for Biobased Products in the Mississippi Delta, Battelle Technology Partnership Practice, August 2009.
