WHY USE THE ALGEBRA PLACEMENT PROGRAM AT SCS? Algebra is available to more students More students qualify to take higher level math courses in High School 8 th Grade Enrichment Students able to progress at their pace

WHAT DOES ALGEBRA LOOK LIKE AT SCS? Algebra is taught daily Algebra takes place in the classroom and seminars APP students participate in follow-up sessions Algebra is taught by all 8 th grade math teachers and is collaborative

TRUE OR FALSE QUIZ Algebra is taught in isolation 9 seminars per year. Students are expected to teach themselves algebra and there is no direct instruction or time for follow up with teachers. Everyone must stay in the APP program once they have signed up. APP is the only algebra taught at SCS.
