Full-service travel agency chain in business since 1949. 110 agencies coast to coast + over 400 agents. Company Headquarters in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Selling worldwide travel – leisure and corporate. Just over half of our offices are in Eastern Canada. Atlantic Canada – close to 60% market share; Smaller market, but close in proximity.

Selling Massachusetts Massachusetts is popular: FIT, coach tours, sporting events, and business travel. 2013 vs 2014 approx. 10% increase. Drive Traffic versus Fly-In. Larger numbers for Florida, NYC, California: All facing challenge of lower CDN dollar. Not unfamiliar situation.

A lower Canadian Dollar… What to do? As a retailer: We often rely on our U.S. suppliers (tour operators, airlines, hotel chains, car rentals, etc.) to create promotions. They deal directly with tourism operators on the ground. Maritime Travel: Co-op marketing & booking. Direct connection to travellers.

What has worked? Value-added offers / promotions that counter perceived expense. Anything to “get them there”. Examples: Destination Disney. Cruise Lines, even McDonald’s.
