International Baccalaureate Introducing: The Personal Project
2
Why do we do a personal project? The personal project is a CULMINATING project…it reflects all that you have learned and experienced as an IB student and as an IB learner. The personal project is an excellent opportunity for you to produce a truly personal piece of work of your choice and to demonstrate the skills you have developed.
3
Why is the personal project extraordinarily cool? Because…
4
It is about finding your passion…about what is truly meaningful to you…
5
What is PASSION? …something you love, something you are excited about, something you get up early or stay up late to do. “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” R. W. Emerson “Choose a job you like and you will never have to work a day in your life.” --Confucius
6
A personal project… Has a clear and achievable goal. Is focused on one of the areas of interaction Allows you to express a truly personal message
7
A personal project… Is the result of YOUR initiative, YOUR creativity, and YOUR ability to organize and plan. Reflects your special interests, hobbies, special abilities, or concerns about particular issues. Deals with a topic or area to which you are COMMITTED. Is entirely your own work – authenticity is very important.
8
Ideas for a personal project …
