Why? Obesity is mainly caused from more energy going into the body, than what is going out. Consuming amounts of energy and then releasing the same amount of energy by exercising, will leave you as the same weight you were when you first consumed the energy. Back to contents

In 1970, only 5.7% of the population is the US was obese, 40 years later that amount has risen drastically to around 30%. A main reason for this would be because of the amount of technology these days. 40 years ago kids ran around after school, now, alot of kids play computer games, or go on facebook instead of exercising.

Obesity in Children There are lots of ways you can become obese but the amount of time children spend at school can have an impact on their weight and their health. Because parents want positive academic results the children’s recess and lunch is either reduced or entirely cut off. Because of people eat lunch at different times some of the children will have to wait for a long time to get something to eat but the children who do after-school activities might not get to eat so when they get home they offend attend to over eat unhealthy food.

So are we our own Enemies?
Yes it is usually our fault that we are obese. Many people blame the fast food companies and technology for our weight, but it is us that chooses to eat unhealthily, or not exercise. Companies like McDonalds do label how much fats are in there food, but people still eat the food, and do not exercise after they do so. Back to contents
