4. Salsa Beat Four Beats per bar Only three steps per bar –Count 1-2-3- - 5-6-7- -1-2-3- -5-6-7- - –Sometimes a flick or tap or kick on fourth beat Weight change every step

5. Salsa Dancing Salsa is a partner dance! –Leader (usually men) steps –Follower (usually ladies) steps Find a partner –Gender doesn’t matter! Leader leads with left foot Follower leads with right foot

6. Basic Step Side to side movement Step on lead foot[1] Step on trailing foot[2] Step on lead foot[3] Tap/Kick/Rest[4] Repeat in opposite direction starting on trailing foot
