1
The Force of Gravity. May the Force be with you.
2
What is Gravity? Gravity is a property of matter. Gravity is a force of attraction
3
Every object pulls every other object toward it. The more matter (molecules) an object contains the harder it pulls.
4
The closer an object is to another the harder it pulls.
5
The harder an object pulls other objects, the heavier it is said to be. Mass directly affects gravity. The more mass it has, the harder it will pull
6
Earth Gravity. Because the Earth’s mass is more than any object near or on its surface, the Earth draws objects toward it.
7
Why does Earth gravity never change? Earth’s gravity never changes because the mass of the Earth never changes.
8
What if there were no gravity on Earth? Without gravity, the air in the atmosphere has no reason to hang around, and it would immediately leap into space Without an atmosphere, any living thing would die immediately and anything liquid would boil away into space.
9
Connecting weight and gravity Mass vs. Weight Video Everything weighs less on the Moon because the mass of the Moon is smaller than the mass of the Earth. The more mass an object in space has, the more gravitational pull there is.

How much will you weigh on the objects in space?
