Apr12-cesg-6 Application Support Services WG (cont.) Progress (cont.) Clarified books to be produced for Electronic Data Sheets and plan agreed: Electronic Data Sheets for Onboard Devices Blue book Electronically describes: Device-specific Access Protocol, how to access a device using subnetwork services Functional Interface, how to access the functions provided by the device, virtualised from the access method. For example, using engineering units rather than raw values Device Abstraction Control Procedure, mapping on the Functional Interface on to the Device-specific Access Protocol Ancillary Information, text, figures etc. Book describes structure and required elements within an Electronic Data Sheet Electronic Data Sheets XML Schema XML Schema to use for creating a device’s EDS in XML Pulls in Common DoT XML Schema Held by SANA Common Dictionary of Terms for Onboard Devices Blue book Common syntactic and semantic types used in device EDS Common Dictionary of Terms XML Schema XML Schema to use for creating Common DoT in XML Held by SANA SOIS Area Report
