F To take an active interest in the civic, cultural, and social and moral welfare of the community. F To unite the Clubs in the bonds of friendship, good fellowship and mutual understanding. F To provide a forum for the open discussion of all matters of public interest, provided, however, that partisan politics and sectarian religion shall not be debated by club members. F To encourage service minded men to serve their community without personal financial reward, and to encourage efficiency and promote high ethical standards in commerce, industry, professions, public works and private endeavors.

10. 10 LIONS CODE OF ETHICS F To show my faith in the worthiness of my vocation by industrious application to the end that I may merit a reputation for quality of service. F To seek success and to demand all fair remuneration or profit as my just due, but to accept no profit or success at the price of my own self- respect lost because of unfair advantage taken or because of question- able acts on my part. F To remember that in building up my business it is not necessary to tear down another’s, to be loyal to my clients or customers and true to myself. F Whenever a doubt arises as to the right or ethics of my position or action towards others, to resolve such doubt against myself. F To hold friendship as an end and not a means. To hold that true friendship exists not on account of the service performed by one to another, but that true friendship demands nothing but accepts service in the spirit in which it is given. To give them freely of my time, labour, and means. F To aid others by giving my sympathy to those in distress, my aid to the weak, and my substance to the needy. F To be careful with my criticism and liberal with my praise: to build up and not destroy.

13. 13 WHAT IS EXPECTED? F A new member is expected to give freely of his/her time and energy whenever possible; attend all Club meetings (unless they are ill, at work, out of town, vacation etc.), be available for committee assignments, be knowledgeable about the objectives and aims of Lionism, and support all Club Officers at all times.

14. 14 AWARDS F Certain awards are available to earn as a regular attending member. Attendance Awards are given to those that achieve a 100% attendance each year. F Chevron Awards - Charter members with continuous membership for 10 or more years will receive Charter Monarch Chevron. Members who are not charter members will receive a Monarch Chevron

15. 15 AWARDS continued F MEMBERSHIP KEY AWARDS are for those lions who sponsor new members who remain active for 1 year and 1 day. They are issued automatically by Lions Club International after an individual sponsors 2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100, 150, 200, 250, 300, 350, 400, 450 and 500 members. Each key is a lapel pin and the medallion is different in design. It is presented with a ribbon.

16. 16 Club Dues F Each club has an entrance fee for new members and annual dues. Dues can be collected either annually or semi-annually. F Statements are usually mailed on June lst or December 1st of each year. F The Club semi-annually pays to Multiple District 19 and Lions Clubs International “per capita and convention fund tax” for each member. F Entrance fee is $30.00 (one time only) and dues are $60.00 a year
