SOA review – now feeding into a new Community Plan Sustainability Partnership agreed focus on indicator development in 3 areas from our work last year: ◦ Climate Change ◦ Biodiversity ◦ Community Engagement (behaviour change) Development work on indicators still ongoing New Board level aim of draft Community Plan to be discussed at February Community Planning Board Meetings with theme lead officers and third sector undertaken so far Opportunity now for all Sustainability Partnership members to have their say

7. Suggested how to event for charities / SSDF proposal The Scottish Sustainable Development Forum (SSDF) / Climate Challenge Fund Community Action Support Programme (CASP) are organising three regional events leading from the Climate Challenge Fund Gathering in 2011. Main objectives: to raise awareness about the Earth Summit, create realistic visions of individual communities and how to plan for it, to record participant’s aspirations for the future of their community to feed into the Green Dreams initiative and to offer an opportunity for community groups in the local area to network with one another. These half-day events will be held in 3 different locations across Scotland and will contain the following: ◦ Case Studies – from a community group who have completed the visioning process and have come up with a sustainability plan for the future of their community. ◦ Adaptation Scotland Workshop – Discovering the physical and environmental effects of climate change in your respective communities ◦ Visioning Workshops – An opportunity for community groups to develop their own sustainability plan for their individual communities with the support of Adaptation Scotland and SSDF ◦ Green Dreams Recording – Your opportunity to answer the question ‘What is your dream for a sustainable future in Scotland and the World?’ Agenda 9.30 – 10amRegistration with tea and coffee 10-10.05amWelcome 10.05-10.35amPresentation from community group explaining their visioning process and how they created their sustainability plan 10.35-11amAdaptation Scotland Workshop 11-11.15amBreak 11.15 – 12.30pmVisioning workshop 12.30 – 1.30pmLunch and Green Dreams recording

WWF UK is giving one community, be that a school, workplace, street, village, pub or club, the chance to lead the UK switch off and win a grant of £1000. This may be something you want to send round your networks.
