1 New York State Council on the Arts Art Grant Program

2 Program Description Funds are available under Article 3 of the Arts and Cultural Affairs Law for: The presentation of the performing and fine arts; Surveys to encourage participation of the arts; To encourage public interest in the cultural heritage of the state, and To promote tourism by supporting arts and cultural projects.

3 Applicant Eligibility Requirements The Council on the Arts awards grants to nonprofit organizations incorporated in New York State, Indian tribes, and units of local government. The mission of the applicant or the lead applicant in a partnership must be primarily related to arts and culture. The project must be a regional economic priority – for example, creates jobs; economic investment; sustainability and community revitalization, etc.

4 Applicant Eligibility Requirements The minimum grant award is $50,000. This is a MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM : the applicant may not apply for more than 50% of the project’s cost. The match for the remaining 50% of the budget can be compromised of 25% in- kind support and 25% other revenue (NYSCA grants nor any other state revenue may be used as a revenue match). $50,000

5 Applicant Eligibility Requirements The period of support is Projects are NOT Eligible for Funding Capital & Re-Grant Nov. 2012 - Oct. 2013

6 Project Cash Disbursement Methods After the final payment, a reconciliation report is required Any unspent funds will be returned to the New York State Council on the Arts. 25% Jan - March 25% April - June 25% July – Sept 25% Oct - Dec Disbursement of Grants
