Your Experienced Crew
34
Why you need a good Crewperson To help you rig / derig. To do the mundane tasks so you can concentrate on planning your flight. To follow & stay in radio contact, in order to help you find a good landing site, or clear a road. To negotiate with authorities to retrieve you from private property, usually fenced. To be an encouraging & supportive team mate.

ASW20 sealing tapes This is how I did it... examples for Information only. Aileron TOP 22mm Mylar (2.75 Meters) 12mm Transfer Tape (Double Stick TESA) 12mm PVC Anti-Peel safety tape Aileron BOTTOM 25mm Teflon/Fabric adhesive tape (Glass Cloth) 30mm Mylar (2.75 Meters) 12mm Transfer Tape (Double Stick TESA) 19mm PVC Anti-Peel safety tape Note: attach Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape to trailing edge of wing at edge, flex aileron to the fullest extent and then attach the balance of the Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape to the aileron. Next: Place the transfer tape (double stick adhesive tape) just ahead of the Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape. Now place the mylar onto the adhesive (Double stick) tape, you’ve created a POSITIVE air seal and with the mylar a smooth flow surface as well, the Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape also creates an anti-friction sliding surface for the mylar. Simple, easy, quick and effective! Finally, add the PVC tape over the leading edge of the mylar (half on the mylar and half on the wing surface) to finish smoothing the tapes and provide a better attachment for the tapes. use this same technique wherever you use the Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tapes…The Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape will stick to the ailerons a bit with normal movement but eventually the adhesive gets dirty and loses some stick, it will not stop the controls from moving and in flight you will not hear this or feel it. Flaps BOTTON ONLY 30mm TESA Tissue tape Elevator BOTTOM 25mm Teflon/Fabric adhesive tape (Glass Cloth) 12mm Transfer Tape (Double Stick TESA) 22mm Mylar (2.550 Meters) 12mm PVC Anti-Peel safety tape Same technique as ailerons Rudder (BOTH SIDES) 30mm Mylar (1.25M eters each side) 12mm Transfer Tape (Double Stick TESA) 19mm PVC Anti-Peel safety tape Teflon /Fabric (Glass Cloth) adhesive tape was not used here, probably of little benefit and because rudder travel is large, only internal “S” seal would work in this location.
