CORLEY Family Email l Dear Alan, l It appears that your ancestor, Daniel CORLEY, may have been my Celeta CORLEY's father. I have nothing on Celeta's parents (sometimes Celetee, but I've never seen it Seletee). That has been a dead end in our family tree for some time. The minister who performed their marriage was Presley O'Keefe. Why do you ask--were you expecting it to be a relative? l How certain are you that Daniel is her father? What proof do you have? Celeta was my great-grandmother and she told me stories before she died in 1937. Her 1900 census record said she was born in Jan 1848, so it fits what you have and I'd be anxious to hear more. l l xxxxxxxxx CORLEY

CORLEY Family Email l Alan, l I was surprised to get your email. I have worked on the Daniel Corley line for some time, but with limited success. I know that his parents were George and Willey, and I have George's will from Wilson Co., TN. It mentions his son Daniel S. and all the rest of the children. I would be glad to share what I have and would be anxious to hear what you've got. I am going to type up the will and email it to you word for word this weekend. l I don't ever recall Joe mentioning that your grandmother had any children. Maybe he just forgot to tell me about it because I never asked. He was very fond of your grandmother and they got along great. Did he even mention me to you? l Della xxxxxxxxxxxx

CORLEY Family Email l Yes, Nathaniel is the father of George CORLEY. I know this because Nathaniel mentions his grandson Daniel (son of my late son George) in his will in 1849. He says that Daniel is in Arkansas and leaves $50 to be split among Daniel's six children when they turn 21 or when they get married, whichever is first. l We have a letter written by Daniel telling of his unsuccessful attempt to get a pension. It was written in 1884 from White City, Texas. We also have a funeral announcement for Daniel that was sent by his wife, Susan H. CORLEY in 1895. I can dig that out if you would like. The book SOUTHERN STARS traces the CORLEY ancestry back from Nathaniel another three generations. Joe CORLEY has all that information recorded in charts, so you probably already have all of that from him. l Jan ROGERS

CORLEY Family Email lIlI was surprised to hear from you about the CORLEY family. I didn't think anyone cared about that family anymore except for Joe CORLEY. He's been gathering family facts for so many years I figured anybody who wanted anything would just ask him. Could Joe answer your questions? lOlOr did you just want to see if I knew any family stories. I'd be glad to share whatever I have, but I think Joe already has all of it, so you should probably get it from him. He's much more organized than I am. lLlLet me know if there's anything else I can do. lGlGrace xxxxxxxxxx

l It's really interesting to hear from CORLEY relations. Of course, you know about Joe CORLEY. I've been able to keep in better touch with him since my husband got us set up with this email a few years back. My husband's gone now, but I still have the email and that helps me when I get to feeling lonely. It's sure been nice trading stories and talking about the old family with Joe. l I was just thinking about the CORLEYs the other day. I have a few things left over that my grandfather gave to my sister and I. She died in February and didn't have any children. I only had the one, and he and his wife have no interest in family at all. They took the old CORLEY things that interested them, but there were a few things they didn't want. Go to next slide

CORLEY Family Email l One of them is George K. CORLEY's old confederate uniform. It isn't in the best shape--still has a bullet hole and some blood stains. There's some old letters from his wife and mother that I guess were personal effects when he died in the Yankee prison. My friend told me I should call a museum and see if maybe they wanted the uniform or the letters, but I just never got around to calling about it. Don't really know who I would call. l If your interested in this stuff, I could send it to you if you send me the postage cost. Social Security doesn't seem to allow for any extras like sending a package. l Annie XXXXXXXXX

CORLEY Family Email l Alan, It's really great to hear from you. I haven't been able to get any information on your branch of the family. Your Aunts Carrie and Vi told me that your Dad was in the Air Force and impossible to keep track of, and that he wasn't interested in anything about the family since his parent's divorce. I never even knew that he had any children. What a surprise to get an email! l I've been kind of the family historian. Whenever any kids are born, married, or die, everyone sends me the names and dates. I have charts filled out and will be glad to share any of it with you. Could you also fill out charts on your Dad, your brothers and yourself so we can add your branch of the family to the records? I have sent the information I have in a large envelope yesterday. Let me know if you have anything you can add to what's there. l Joe CORLEYpicture attached
