What is Body Biography? Each area/body part your character has must be filled in. I will give your group a sheet with this information on it! Specially…

What is Body Biography? Brain: what makes this person “tick”; think what motivates/drives this person to action. Eyes: visions, goals, hopes, and dreams; who/what did this person see for themselves in the future? Mouth: Three quotes by this person that define who they are in the play. Left hand: actions performed by this character that are important.

What is Body Biography? Right hand: same as left; you will need another example of an action performed by this character. Heart: who/what did this person love or value? This can be multiple people/things. “Achilles heel”: who/what was this person’s weakness? Roots: what/who influenced this person in the play?

Some Tips… Be creative—I know Joe has a lot of body parts missing! Use colors and be artistic! I will laminate the best ones to use as examples for next year. Trace in pencil before using crayons/ markers. YOU ONLY GET ONE SHEET! DON’T MESS UP! Do not use markers to color in large areas— use crayons—don’t waste my markers!

Mr. Hampton’s Example

Get into groups of two (2)! You have 30 seconds.

Get to work! You have one hour to draw and identify/explain all 8 areas. The last 15 minutes of class, you will share your design with the rest of the class.
