2.  A free program that allows you to call and chat with friends (they must also have skype)  If you each have a webcam you can also do a free video chat with friends and family  You Need: ◦ Computer ◦ Microphone (they may be built into your computer) ◦ Webcam (if you intend to video chat)

3.  First, go to www.skype.com and download the programwww.skype.com

4.  Second, once you click download you will see step by step instructions. Click on “Run” to start downloading. Click run, then follow setup wizard.

5.  Third, skype is now on your computer (the desktop or task bar), click the icon to launch the program.

6. After clicking the icon, you get a “Welcome to Skype” screen You will be prompted to create your skype name and a password. Your skype name is like your phone number, it is what is used to connect with family and friends.

7.  Once you launch skype, you will be prompted to conduct an echo sound test to make sure your microphone and sound works. You can also test your webcam if you have one.

8. Add new contacts Even call landlines!

9. To make a call: 1.Choose your contact 2.Click “call” or “video call” 3.Make sure volume is up 4.Call rings just like a telephone 5.Communicate with friends and family!!! 6.When you are done, click “End Call” Contact Call or Video Call
