Parent Survey Results The majority were from the Metro Area (Figure 1). The largest proportion had children age 2 to 3 (Figure 2). The majority said their children were diagnosed before they were 6 months old (Figure 3). 2/3 use a hearing aid (figure 5). The majority of children communicate through spoken language, sigh language or both (Figure 6).

D/HH Teacher Survey Results Nearly half have taught D/HH for more than 15 years (Figure 25). Most (84%) have a master’s degree (Figure 26). Just over half were from the Metro Area (Figure 27). For the majority (68%), the primary model of service delivery was itinerant (Figure 28). Respondents reported a total of 2,486 children/students on their caseloads collectively. – The average and median caseload was 15 children with a range of one to 52. – The average urban caseload was slightly smaller than rural and suburban caseloads. – Suburban caseloads were more likely to have younger children (birth-5 years).
