Herbal Medicine The 19th century brought changes due to chemists learning how to derive and then alter the active ingredients in plants. Herbal medicine was set back in favor of pharmaceutical drugs. Currently one fourth of pharmaceutical drugs are created by using ingredients that are derived from plants.

Herbal Medicine Herbal medicine is making a comeback. More than 80% of people worldwide are using herbs as part of their daily healthcare. Interest in natural and organic remedies, side effects of drugs, and the cost of prescription drugs has raised the interest and use of herbal medicine.
