CURRENT REALITIES The CCSS are California’s adopted standards (August, 2010). The CST/STAR continues to be the state’s standardized assessment through 2013-14. The state’s new assessment, Smarter Balanced, is not projected to begin until 2014- 15.

DISTRICT GOAL Every student will learn the Common Core State Standards through high quality first instruction aligned to the standards every day. All teachers will be prepared and supported to implement and teach the CCSS effectively in their classrooms.
