College Expectations for Incoming Students: Attend New Student Orientation or College Information Session Attend Student Advising Session (SAS: dates and times in Admissions letter) Just say NO to self-advising: Schedule an appointment with an academic advisor early

Admission Standards: (Open Access) Cincinnati State application (online) High School transcript COMPASS® test (practice test information on Cincinnati State’s website) or ACT scores (must be submitted to College from ACT)

Developmental Education mission: COMPASS® placement scores indicate a need for additional preparation in the areas of reading, writing and math skills. Are typically taken prior to admission to a degree program. In some cases, developmental courses can be taken in conjunction with program level coursework.

Developmental Education mission: Students are assigned an advisor to assist in the selection of appropriate courses Advisors monitor the progress of each student toward meeting program requirements Non-transferable Does not impact grade point average

College Reading 2 - (DE 0011) A continuation of College Reading 1. Integrated College Prep Skills - (DE 0018) Integrated instruction in college preparatory in reading and writing combined with Human Relations
