Prepare To Share Matthew 25:31-46 -These verses are just as interesting for what is not there as they are for what is. -No stance on hot button topics, no discussion of brotherhood issues, nothing concerning our understanding of the plan of salvation, falling from grace, or MDR. -How did we treat one another?

Prepare To Share “Even as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Matthew 20:28 “For Christ did not please himself, but as it is written, ‘The reproaches of those who reproached you fell on me.” Romans 15:3 “For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23

Prepare To Share John 13:34-35 -The difference is in the breadth, width, and reason for the love that Jesus demands. -The love that Jesus commands includes all men. -We love because Jesus loved and we strive to reach the same extent to the best of our abilities. -It is this characteristic that is to mark our discipleship.

Prepare To Share Galatians 6:9-10 -There is a tendency among us to focus almost exclusively upon our brethren. -The Holy Spirit said that we have an obligation to do good unto all men, not just our brethren. 2 Corinthians 8:1-5 -They had an indomitable will to give themselves entirely to the Lord. -Demands a full self sacrifice!

Prepare To Share Practical Application When did you last share your time and talents with your fellow man, saint or otherwise? -There is an unfortunate “someone else will do it” mentality prevalent within the church today. -We are not riding anyone’s coattails into heaven!

Prepare To Share Practical Application Consider the evangelistic aspect. - “What do they have that others, including myself, do not?” -Always remember that as we lend aid and support to non Christians, we provide opportunities to spread the gospel. Are you recognizing and taking advantage of these opportunities?

Prepare To Share Practical Application Romans 12:9-13; 1 John 3:18 -Sometimes our brethren need more than our prayers (2 Samuel 24:22-24). -Let us refuse to offer to the Lord that which cost us nothing, or requires absolutely no effort on our part. -Financial assistance (Romans 15:25-27).

Prepare To Share Practical Application “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Acts 20:35 -Are you a giver or receiver? -The answer to this question will go far in determining your eternal destiny.
