Alaska STEPP is a place to build that framework. The indicators of effective practice are the framework that support the school. Like a house, in a school plan something is usually in need of being updated or replaced.

Annual Updates: School Information / Team Information Needs Assessment Upload Folder (remove/save old, upload new needs assessment and comprehensive plan) Indicators (new, re-assessed, flagged) Tasks (new, completed, revised) Monitoring (updates, completed) Meetings (set regular schedule for the year) SW Plan Review

New! – Folders You will now see 3 folders. Last year – assurance/needs assessment This year – assurance/needs assessment Spare – Misc Documents Save up to 11 total – BUT – MOVE THEM to your own hard drive at the end of the year.

Update School/Team Information

School Information: - Includes Principal and Process Manager (who enters information into the system and schedules team meetings, if the Principal does not do this) Team Information: - Includes team members, phone, email contacts. Add a New Team Member – use the button. Delete/Edit a Team Member – Double Click the name to get a popup box.

Indicators – New! - Re-Assessed/Flagged Flagged indicators will appear on the Assess Button Filters may be selected for Flagged, Key, or Spotlight indicators Display all indicators will show those that have NOT yet been assessed, or have been flagged, on the “2. Indicators to Assess” tab, and those assessed at Limited or Full (but not yet flagged) on the “3. Indicators Assessed” tab – unless a filter is selected. Flagged indicators will not count as “Assessed” in this column – they are considered ‘Not Assessed’

Flagged indicators show up as to be assessed. Remember to Save Past history for a Flagged indicator is here.

Update who is responsible for a task and when it will be completed. Update actual tasks, and whether or not they have been completed. Updating Tasks

Monitor Progress Monitor button gives a snapshot of objectives and tasks/% completed. Tasks may be updated from here by clicking on the objective.

NEW! - Spotlight Indicators Helpful for: Focusing a team on Key indicators plus one or two Focusing a team on only 3 indicators per year Selecting only indicators a Title IA School Wide planning team will need Focusing a team on Parent Involvement only Select the Spotlight Indicators Page using one of these two buttons.

I ndicators must first be added to the Spotlight Indicator List below. Then they may be selected using the filter, which will then show only Spotlight Indicators on Subsequent Pages – Create/Monitor

All other pages (Create, Monitor, Reports) will then have the option to remove the Spotlight Indicator filter somewhere on the page. Individual Spotlight Indicators may only be changed/removed from the Spotlight Page

Using Alaska STEPP is a Process Teams monitor the implementation of their plan over the course each and multiple years. The plan is never finished and teams continuously assess, plan, and monitor.
