Business CardCard is produced in homeroom, but they can carry this around with them for the first week of the semester To gather information about how students perceive themselves, which then allows other teachers and students to take this into account BGFL Questionnaire (MI & learning styles) http://www.bgfl.org/index.cfm ?s=1&m=3170&p=1920,index Coordinated by HS guidance, and distributed to homeroom teachers for discussion and reflection – first week of semester Provides a controlled, reliable valid profile of each student, which allows students to reflect on their learning style, opening up discussion and self reflection Paper tower building/ observation (other group challenge activities also possible) Carried out in homeroom, with students as observers – first week of semester To observe how students work together in groups in terms of engagement, creativity, leadership and problem solving. Also a team building activity for homeroom

Who will you Display Results to: The results would be collated as the basis for the ‘total talent portfolio’ for HS faculty, the student & their parents How will you share results: Results would be stored electronically and accessible to all HS faculty, the student & their parents. Sample Uses for this information: Used for grouping students for projects and assignments, college guidance, planning of UbD units/ performance tasks, course selection, enables teachers to get to know students better

Business Cards Activity Instructions 1.Take a piece of A4 paper and fold three times 2.Write your name clearly on the front 3.One the back of the paper, illustrate 5 aspects of your personality that are important to you and that you are willing to share publicly 4.Pair up with someone who you don’t know 5.Go through your card with them 6.Pair up with another group and introduce your partner to your new group
