Name of Museum The quote above was stated as Pastor Trocme preached a sermon by a Protestant minister in southern France in the late 1930s as the Nazi power was rising. France fell to Nazi Germany on June 22,1940, Pastor Trocme had ambition to resist the Nazis becoming important. In the small French village of Le Chambon he helped that town establish ways to “resist the dominant evil they faced.” The hard ways to make little moves against destructiveness was to establish safe houses that were used for refugees who were escaping camps or where the were. These safe houses received contributions from International Quaker, Catholics, American Congregationalist, Jewish and World Council of Churches groups.
