3. For this project, we interviewed several public school teachers about technology in the classroom. We asked them about how technology has evolved in the classroom and the pros and cons of using this technology with students. We are interested in secondary education concerning History, English, and Math.

6. Two High School Teachers were interviewed concerning technology usage in their classroom. Both agreed that more technology is needed because students need to be exposed to it early to function later in society. Both think smart boards make teaching easier and more fun for themselves and their students. Both are “okay” with cell phones and MP3 players in school, but not necessarily in the classroom.

7. Technology breaks down cultural barriers and removes some of the disadvantages that minorities face. Involvement with technology brings students together and provides “hands-on” activities that all types of students can get involved in. In the future, most things will involve technology – students should be exposed to it early on.

8. Pros Students have easier access to information. Makes education more enjoyable and fun for the teachers and the students. Prepares students for future technological interactions.

9. Cons Makes students rely on technology too much. Personal interactions between students suffer. Poor eyesight. New problems concerning cheating. Challenge for some older teachers.

10. Technology is favored by most teachers and by students. Technology has, and always will, change. Technology makes teaching for pluralism attainable because it removes some barriers and disadvantages. Though technology is necessary, many schools, especially today, cannot afford it.
