3 What is the Online Reporting Tool? Provides a new way for students to report bullying behavior and negative incidents that impact the positive school environment The Online Reporting Tool is an alternate option! *It is always better to discuss incidents with a trusted adult in the school. Provides information on Incidents that administration may not be aware of Promotes safe, accepting, inclusive school environment

4 How does the Online Reporting tool work? For students (gr.3 -12) Students click on the link on your schools website Students are guided to fill out a report through 8 questions All reports are directly linked to schools & emailed to the school’s principal and/or Vice Principal

5 Privacy The tool is intended for student use Students are not required to leave contact information, however, it is not an anonymous tool There is no guarantee of privacy as students may be identifiable based on the nature incident and those involved

6 When a student clicks the link on the school’s homepage they will be taken directly to the Online Report Tool Questions:

7 The first page of the survey Explains the tool Provides alternative options for help (i.e. 911, Adults to talk to, Crime Stoppers and Kids Help Phone)

14 *Principal’s slide: What to do with the report Follow up and investigate Progressive discipline Keep copy of report on file for 1 year

15 *Additional Principal’s Slide Leilani Charles will provide the URL specific to your school via email. This URL is intended to be attached to your school’s website. Please ensure that you use this URL only. Each school will have only one URL that is specific to the school A Cautionary Note: Please be sure NOT TO DESCRIBE THE TOOL AS ANONYMOUS. Share presentation with Catholic School Council and with students as appropriate

DESCRIPTION OF INCIDENT (This part is VERY important. Please include as much detail as you can so that we can investigate and follow up. Without enough information, there is little that can be done.) In this segment of the report the information provided online regarding the incident would be printed. Page 4 3. WEB LINK? (Optional) In this segment of the report any web Links provided by the student reporting the incident would be printed. For example Facebook links or Twitter links showing online bullying. 4. HAVE YOU TOLD ANYONE? (Optional)Yes 5. WHO DID YOU TELL? (Optional) In this segment of the report any people the student told about the incident would be included. Page 5 7. LIKE TO BE CONTACTED? (Optional)No 8. CONTACT INFORMATION (Optional) In this segment of the report any contact information would be included if appropriate.
