Act 389 L-SART (Louisiana Screening and Referral to Treatment)
2013 Legislative Session Allows for courts to sentence defendants to substance abuse treatment program. AAHSD - Contract with Probation and Parole to conduct suitability evaluations and to provide treatment, if ordered by the court. Expected to divert 500 offenders from prison per year statewide.
