« La marseillaise » La Marseillaise is the National Anthem of France written by Rouget de Lisle in Strasbourg on the night of 25 to 26 April 1792 in the wake of the declaration of war to the emperor of Austria. On July 30, 1792, it was sung by 500 volunteers from Marseille on their way to Paris. The Parisians called this song: La Marseillaise.
