The political map Italy is made up of 20 regions.
Rome is in Lazio, in the centre of Italy.

The Mediterranean sea. The Mediterranean sea surrounds Italy
on three sides: The Tyrrhenian sea to the West. The Adriatic sea to the East. The Ionian sea to the South-East.

Italian mountain ranges
Italy has two major mountain ranges : The Alps in the North. The Appenines that run along the peninsula from Liguria to Sicily.

Italian lakes and rivers
The Alps are made up of rugged peaks and large lakes (lake Garda, lake Como, lake Maggiore and lake Iseo) In Italy there are many rivers; and the longest is Po which is in the Po Valley.

The climate is generally mild and attracts many tourists.

Tourism Millions of people are attracted by numerous art cities for their Renaissance and Roman monuments. Rome, Naples, Florence and Venice are the most famous art cities
