Anti-Social Personality Their brain operates at a lower level No Regard for other people Feel no remorse for their actions Cause is unknown Treatment generally does not work since they do not feel they have a problem Ironically they often grow out of the behavior

Paranoid Personality Disorder Suspicion pervasive of every thought Inflexible Self-centered Seek evidence of their beliefs Self-fulfilling prophecy Do not take responsibility for their actions Abuse as infants may be cause Raised in a household that blames others Treatment generally does not work

Schizoid Personality Cut themselves off from people Work in occupations where they don’t have to deal with people. Engage in elaborate fantasies with imaginary friends. They will engage in solitary activities Rarely seek out treatment

Avoidant Personality Dis. Wants friends but cannot form relationships Low self-esteem Fearful of rejection, easily hurt, easily humiliated Some treatment works.

Narcistic Personality Preoccupation with your self without reason Delusions of Grandeur Shallow person, emotionally immature Insensitive to the needs of others Expect special treatment from others….. Cannot sustain relationships Overly involved parent….usually mother

Histrionic Personality Disorder Want the spotlight…. Drama king…queen More often in women then men Sexually seductive…tease….. Self-indulgent and manipulative Behaviors feel this a learned set of behaviors Freudians feel this a product of a fixation

Passive-Aggressive Manipulates people by “non-doing” behavior Hostile but afraid of confrontation These people get what they want expressing their dissatisfaction in a passive The have a dissconnect between their behavior and events

Compulsive Personality Not the same thing as OCD Nit picky, detailed, The process of organization keeps them from making a decisions or doing work…. Cannot relax and enjoy people, so they organize things…
