It has been present in Italy since 1926, and is the main producer of official statistics in the service of citizens and policy-makers. Since 1989 Istat has been performing the role of directing, coordinating, and providing technical assistance and training within the National Statistical System (Sistan).National Statistical System SW: ESRI ARC/INFO, ARCMAP

6 Attribution (by) Licensees may copy, distribute, display and perform the work and make derivative works based on it only if they give the author or licensor the credits in the manner specified by these. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ Geocoding address and Point of Interest The process of geocodind address consists of: -Acquisition of some administrative address data records coming from Public Institution address archieves; - Normalization of address records with sotftware to produce an output file with geographic coordinates; - georeferencing data and producing a shp output file The georeferenced infrastructural data are: -Airports; -Ports; -Primary and secondary school; -Hospitals; -University; -Railways stations; -Historical and cultural sites; -Public libraries.

These data are calculated in Kilometres and in minutes (drivetime) and can be used in many institutional project. Distance euclidean matrix too is used to populate many statistical model that are used to calculate accessibility and peripherality indicator and some indicator that have many application in Statistics for Rural Areas.
