Clinical psychologists work with clients/ patients to help them change or understand their behaviour Institutional psychologists work with organizations to help them understand and improve relationships in that structure (also called social psychologists) Research and experimental psychologists work to identify patterns in human behaviour over time, in controlled settings or by analyzing data.

FYI… While psychologists can help people who have a mental illness , psychologists are not medical doctors- mental illnesses are treated by psychiatrists, doctors who specialize in mental health. If you want to be a “shrink”, you need to go to med school.
