The job plan review No longer just an annual 1-hour meeting The timing of the job plan review should be linked to the following: Trust business plan cycle Consultant appraisal Corporate objective setting Service planning and team objective setting

Purpose of the job plan review Consider what has affected the job plan Consider progress against the agreed objectives Agree any changes to duties and responsibilities Agree a plan for achieving personal objectives Agree support needed from the organisations Review relationship with other paid work, including private practice.

Purpose of the day To provide for those involved in the job planning process A set of tools which may help enhance the quality of the job plan An opportunity to discuss how best to link job planning with other trust responsibilities, such as business planning, corporate objective setting An opportunity to share in the development of the local consultant job planning process

Content of the day 5 sessions: Setting the context Effective use of data in job planning Objective setting Achieving the benefits of effective job planning Negotiating skills
