6. Executive Order 9066
February 19, 1942 – FDR signs Executive Order 9066 authorizing the removal and incarceration of over 110,000 Japanese Americans
More than two-thirds of those incarcerated were U.S. citizens and over half were children.
The 150,000 people of Japanese ancestry living in Hawaii who were not removed or incarcerated.
