2 geography Great Britain is an island situated to the northwest of Continental Europe and east of Ireland. It is separated from the continent by the North Sea and by the English Channel. It is the ninth largest island in the world, and the largest European island, as well as the largest of the British Isles.

England - The capital city is London. Scotland - The capital city is Edinburgh. Wales - The capital city is Cardiff. Northern Ireland - The capital city is Belfast. Population is about 62 million people.

monument in Britain. It is a circle of stones. Stonehenge is situated on Salisbury Plain in the county of Wiltshire.

14 Windsor Castle Windsor Castle has been a royal residence
for over 900 years and today is one of the homes of Queen Elizabeth ll.

15 Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is the Queen's official and
main royal London home. It has been the official London residence of Britain's monarchy since 1837.  Queen Victoria was the first monarch to live there.

16 Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is
used also for the administrative work for the monarchy. It is here in the state apartments that Her Majesty receives and entertains guests invited to the Palace.
