ENGLAND IS HOME TO SOME OF THE EARLIEST UNIVERSITIES IN THE WORLD COVERING MANY FIELDS INCLUDING CHEMISTRY. ONE GOAL OF THIS TRIP IS FOR STUDENTS TO LEARN AND VISIT PLACES OF SIGNIFICANCE IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CHEMISTRY IN A GLOBAL SENSE. CAMBRIDGE AND OXFORD UNIVERSITIES ARE HOME TO MANY NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS.

CAVENDISH LAB The Museum at the Cavendish contains apparatus used in some of the Laboratory's most famous researches. It was established in 1870 In 1897, J.J.Thomson, discovered the electron Ernest Rutherford was the Cavendish Professor. He had become famous for discovering the nucleus of the atom. The neutron was discovered by James Chadwick in 1932

THE WHIPPLE MUSEUM'S COLLECTION INCLUDES SCIENTIFIC INSTRUMENTS, APPARATUS, MODELS, PICTURES, PRINTS, PHOTOGRAPHS, BOOKS AND OTHER MATERIAL RELATED TO THE HISTORY OF SCIENCE.

WHIPPLE MUSEUM Museum holds an internationally important collection of scientific instruments and models, dating from the Middle Ages to the present. The Whipple Museum has a collection of over 400 microscopes and accessories, dating from the late 17th century to the present. Some of the most important microscopes in the collection were owned and used by famous scientists, such as Charles Darwin
