DNV GL © 2013 14 April 2014 The project PLATOS The PLATOS project aims to assist the network operators (e.g. Hafslund) to place and size storage units in power grids such that the storage injection or consumption of power relieves the lines/cable loading. 7

DNV GL © 2013 14 April 2014 Your involvement Working scope: Help formulate the mathematics/optimization problem. Identify suitable solvers (preferably open-source products) Implement the prototype in MATLAB Your qualifications: Strong mathematics background, especially in optimization. Programming skills in MATLAB Knowledge of power grids is NOT required. Most of all, you are curious and eager to explore new territories.
