6. Special Learner Permit
No Driving11:01 pm – 5:00 am
Must be at least 16 years old
Must complete 6 hours Behind-the-Wheel Training
6 months Supervised Driving
Passengers limited to any parent, guardian, or dependent of the special permit holder and 1 additional passenger
No electronics or hand held or hands free devices
All passengers must wear seatbelts
Must be accompanied by an adult supervised driver
at least 21 years of age who possesses a NJ Driver
Basic License, and a minimum of 3 years

7. Examination Permit 6 month Supervised Driving period
No Driving 11:01 pm – 5:00 am
Must be minimum age of 17 years old to 20 years old
No 6 hour Behind-the-Wheel Training required
Limit of 1 passenger unless accompanied by a parent or guardian
Remember the GDL Decal Laws ($4.00 a pair at MVC)
