Annotate your film poster to show how it follows the conventions of the horror genre, and a film poster. Both have weapons which show there will be violence one of the conventions of a horror film. Both are about crazy people Both have dark backgrounds which adds a sense of suspense & gives a spine-chilling sensation, common conventions of a horror film.

3 Question 1: How high is the standard of the production? Does the poster have a high quality to it? Does it accurately look like a film poster? How have you manipulated your images? I believe that my poster has a good quality design & that it’s very similar to a film poster. It took a lot of manipulating (especially the colouring) but I managed to finish it. Question 2: How does the film poster adhere to the codes and conventions of a film poster? Have the group included all key elements such as masthead, tagline, rating, horror imagery, or blurb? My poster adheres as a film poster completely as all aspects of film posters are there. Masthead, tagline, rating, horror & other imagery, production lines etc. Question 3: How does the film poster adhere to the conventions of the horror genre? Is the imagery linked to horror narrative events, key characters or mise-en-scene? This poster definitely adheres to the conventions of horror as it is the colour of blood which is showing there’ll be violence & death. 5 1)What conventions of the horror genre did I adhere to when constructing my film poster? I included a weapon in my poster, one of the connotations of this is violence & death which is an extremely common occurrence in horror films. I also put the poster in a blood red colour, showing there is likely going to be violence &/or death in the film. 2) What practical skills (Photoshop, photography, green screening, make-up, lightning etc.) did I develop by completing the film poster? I improved my ability of applying make-up/fake blood whilst making my poster as well as my ability to create things on Photoshop. 3) What images did I manipulate to complete my poster? I adjusted the size of production logos, age ratings etc. so that they would look the right size compared to text etc. 4) What elements of the horror poster could have been improved & why? I could of left some more room in my poster for writing so it wouldn’t go over the picture.
