4 Locations of Granite in the UK Granite forms some of the highest mountains in the world. Where can you find granite areas in the UK? Mark and label these places on your map: Dartmoor Bodmin Moor Land’s End Grampian Hills Scafell Pike Galway Bay

5 Tors Granite areas have moorland scenery. Granite is weathered along joints and cracks to produce a tor, consisting of rounded blocks that look like they have been stacked upon one another. Draw & Label A Tor Blocks Joints Cracks

6 Granite LAND USE Granite areas are of limited value for farming due to too much acidity and surface water, but they provide: Good terrain for grouse and for military training. Good for reservoirs because they are impermeable (water can’t get through) Tors and bogs are great tourist attractions
