8 Friend of the Court Act Requires the Friend of the Court to investigate and make written recommendations regarding custody and/or parenting time Requires the Friend of the Court to initiate enforcement if a written complaint is made Requires the Friend of the Court to provide alternative dispute resolution to assist parties in settling disputes voluntarily

13 Parenting Time and Michigan’s Child Support Formula The number of overnights with each parent is part of the formula Parenting time has been part of the support calculation since 2008 Prior to 2008 there was a support abatement after a set number of overnights; usually 50% after 7 consecutive overnights
